A recording of a children’s meeting sent live from Brunstad on 19 July 2022, including a musical and an animated film about the topic “Hear Him!”
God is calling us.
God created all people, and wants it to go well with us. He wants to have fellowship with us. So God and Jesus call us all day long – and we often feel that call like a longing inside us, almost like a voice calling us.
If we listen to that voice and turn to Jesus, He will come into our life. It is as if He comes to live in our heart. There, He can speak to us and remind us how to live rightly for God. Through the Bible, the word of God, and His voice inside us, we learn more and more how we can live as God wants us to. If we obey this, we become more and more happy. We learn how we can overcome the evil that wants to ruin things for us and the others, and how we can follow Jesus.
It is very important to listen when we sense that voice inside us, because it is often a quiet voice. We have to want it ourselves, but then Jesus can come in and help us, as He so much wants to do!
More about the musical “Hear Him!”
Anna grows up in a home where God is not spoken about, and they learn to believe in themselves, even if things often go wrong. She understands that there must be something more and feels a longing inside of her that she cannot explain.
One day, Astrid, a Christian neighbor, explains that the longing Anna feels is God’s voice calling her, and that it is important to listen to it. Then she gives Anna her Bible, and when Anna starts reading it, a whole new world opens up for her.
Anna decides to become a Christian and tries her best to follow the inner voice and do what she knows is right. But she meets resistance when she no longer joins in everything the others do at school. They spread untrue and horrible rumors about her, and things become really tough for Anna. When she wants to pay them back, she senses that same voice inside, reminding her of a Bible verse about overcoming the evil with good. Now she knows who the voice belongs to and she understands that she needs to listen, because it will help her and teach her about how to follow Jesus.
Not long afterwards, she meets a girl who is in the church, and starts going to meetings with her. There she learns even more about following Jesus and living for God. The voice in her heart led her here, and she understands how important it is to listen to it – first, to find God and Jesus, and then to learn from them!
More about the animated film “Martha and Mary”
(From Luke 10:38-42 and Johan 10 and 11.) Jesus is coming to visit. Martha and Mary want to make sure that everything is as good as possible for Him and prepare a good meal.
When Jesus arrives, Martha becomes even more busy with organizing things and serving the food, while Mary sits down to listen to Jesus. This irritates Martha, and she asks Jesus to say something to Mary so she will do her share of the work. But Jesus makes it clear that it is important to prioritize – that means choosing what is most important – and that nothing is more important than the word of God. Even though Martha is busy with preparing things and serving, Mary has chosen what is most important at this time – in fact, the one thing that is needed.
Martha needs to think a bit about Jesus’ words, but understands that what He is saying is completely right. And that makes her happy!
