Called to bless

Blessing – it might be a bit of a strange word, and one we don’t use so much. But there is a lot written about it in the Bible, and that means it´s something that we should learn about. The heroes of faith in the Bible did just that. They wanted to do what God had told them to do, because then they knew that God, who has all power in heaven and on earth, was with them and would help them. One such man was David. He was God’s friend. And we will hear more about him in Sunday school. He chose to bless, and so he was himself blessed by God.

More about the theme

David chose to bless

This week, the Bible detectives receive a Bible verse which is all about blessing. First, the verse says that we should not pay back and be bad back if someone is bad or says something nasty to us. It says, “Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do and he will grant you his blessing. ” (1 Peter 3: 9)

What does it mean?

You can see more about that in the film below. Since it says that we are called to receive blessing, it is very exciting to find out what it is. After all, being called by God to something means that He has thought about us and has some plans for us, something wonderful He wants to give us. But in order to get it, we must do what God tells us to do. It´s like a deal, we have to keep our part of the deal, and God keeps his part.
