Pray and so you shall receive

«Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.» (Fil. 4, 6) The Bible writes about Queen Esther, who lived several thousand years ago. She was actually an orphaned little girl, but her uncle and his family adopted her and she grew up with them. The family were Jewish, but they lived in a foreign country, where being Jewish could be dangerous. But Ester and her family believed in God, and God was an important part of their lives. If something was difficult, they asked God for help.

More about the topic

Watch the story about Ester

When Ester had become a young lady, something very special happened. The king of the land wanted to find himself a queen. He therefore ordered that all the most beautiful ladies in the country should come to the castle. Then he wanted to choose a queen.

Ester was very beautiful, and she was chosen to be one of those whom the king was to meet. She must have been very excited when she left the safe family she had been given, took her things with her, and went to the castle. Now she knew nothing of what might happen. Maybe she was going to be queen?

Her uncle told her that she shouldn’t tell anyone that she was Jewish. It wasn’t safe to tell others. Ester therefore kept it a secret. What happened next is a very exciting story, and we will hear more about it in this week’s Sunday school. What happened to Esther? What does the story about Ester have to do about the bibleverse “Do not be anxious”? We´ll find that out in the next Sunday school.
