Josef var en ung mann, som opplevde mange ting som kunne ha gjort han redd, bitter og sint. Han ble solgt som slave av sine egne brødre, og han havnet også i fengsel selv om han var uskyldig. Men Josef var en helt spesiell mann. Han elsket Gud, og gjennom alt han opplevde, så valgte han å tro på Gud og å tjene Han. Det betydde at når han ble fristet til det onde, så valgte han det gode, fordi han ikke ville synde mot Gud. Han sa nei når han ble fristet. Slik bevarte han hjertet sitt helt rent.
